Review:
UGH. MY. HEART.
Every chapter in this book basically had me in a chokehold. I’m trying my best to keep this spoiler-free (and fear not, because there are no spoilers), but just know – you are not ready. Be prepared to reach for a tissue at least a few times.
I genuinely didn’t think this story could top Fourth Wing, but somehow, it did? Every new character, every new moment, every new arc – each one built on the last in a way that felt effortless yet completely devastating at the same time. The stakes are higher, the betrayals cut deeper, and the emotional gut punches? Relentless.
And yet, at the heart of it all, there’s so much hope. It’s woven into every struggle, every impossible choice, every bond between characters. The kind of hope that refuses to die, no matter how hard the world tries to crush it.
Iron Flame wrecked me in the best way. Five stars, no question.
I tread onward. Trembling. But I have to know what happens next. See you shortly… Onyx Storm.
(please go the way I want… PLEASE go the way I want)
Favorite Iron Flame Quotes:
“Because love, at its root, is hope. Hope for tomorrow. Hope for what could be. Hope that the someone you’ve entrusted your everything to will cradle and protect it. And hope? That shit is harder to kill than a dragon.” Pg 36
“’Like a moth to a damned flame.’ The lament slips from my mind, into our mental pathway. He’s gravity, pulling me back to him by the force of his existence. ‘I’m more than willing to let you burn me.’” Pg 178
“How is it possible to both love someone and loathe them all in the same moment?” Pg 257
“One touch, that’s all it takes, and the world around us ceases to exist.” Pg 281
“‘Violence, remember it’s only the body that’s fragile. You are unbreakable.’” Pg 320
