Three months in, and I can confidently say – I absolutely love Pilates and my Club Pilates studio.
I think I’m the kind of person who needs some sort of coach or instructor to hold me accountable. Not just to show up, but to make sure I’m actually doing the workout right. And let’s be honest, the price tag alone is enough motivation to get me in the studio. My membership is $160/month for 8 classes, and those credits do not roll over. So trust me when I say, I’m making sure I’m getting my money’s worth.
But beyond the financial commitment, I truly enjoy these workouts. They’re unlike anything I’ve done before – both calm and intense at the same time. I can focus on my breath and be in my own mind, almost like meditation, while the instructor guides us through the movements. And yet, I still find myself shaking by the end of class, even months into my journey.
Why I Recommend Club Pilates (or Pilates in General)
If you’re someone who wants to take your fitness seriously but needs that extra push, Pilates is the move. Whether you’re a total beginner or already deep into your fitness journey, it’s a workout that meets you where you are and challenges you at every level.
At Club Pilates, there are different class types to keep things interesting:
- Reformer Flow (the classic Pilates experience)
- Cardio Sculpt (adds jumpboard intervals for extra burn)
- Control (focuses on stability and precision)
- Suspend (incorporates TRX)
- Restore (for recovery, obvi)
- Center + Balance (deep core work)
- F.I.T. (Pilates meets high-intensity training)
Plus, the level system ensures you’re working at the right intensity:
- 1 (Foundation) – perfect for beginners, but still can offer a burn for those more advanced
- 1.5 (Progression) – where I’m currently at! A nice challenge without feeling out of my depth
- 2 (Evolution) & 2.5 (Mastery) – for those who want to level up and push past plateaus
(Anything above Level 1 requires instructor approval, so progression is structured to ensure you’re building strength and control before moving on to more challenging movements.)
No matter what class or level you do, Pilates just works. It builds strength, flexibility, and control without the high-impact strain of other workouts. And for anyone hesitant to try – Club Pilates offers a free 30-minute intro class so you can test the waters. Or, if you know Pilates is for you but you don’t want to commit to that monthly premium… they offer a single class credit for $29 that expires in 30 days!
The Unlimited Membership Dilemma
Now, naturally, I’m eyeing the unlimited membership. At the location I frequent, the cheapest option is 4 classes/month at $89, while my 8-class membership sits at $160… But unlimited? That’ll run me $200/month. (They also offer a passport membership for frequent travelers, but let’s be real… I didn’t even ask about that one for obvious reasons.)
Would it be worth it? My financial advisor says yes. (I am my financial advisor, and she agrees.)
For now though, I’m sticking with my current membership – but check back at my one-year mark to see if anything’s changed: my membership, my body, my perspective… or if I’ve just given in to my inner Pilates addict. Again, I swear this isn’t meant to be a Club Pilates plug… Pilates has just changed my life, and I need to let as many people know as possible.
